Our Makers

Our Geo cushions and pockets are printed in the UK on organic fabric and then carefully hand-made in East London at a women’s social enterprise.

FabricWorks is a professional social organisation focused on creating exquisite commissions whilst creating employment.

The FabricWorks training programme gives opportunities to local women, from a variety of backgrounds and skills levels, to take part in textile design and production courses.

They provide a welcoming space for local long-term unemployed women to meet, to learn, to create, gain support, seek advice, experience volunteering and work readiness opportunities, build a C.V, raise aspirations, engage with their local community and beyond, and to have fun. These courses have a direct impact on benefitting local communities in East London and beyond.

Our cushions are filled with ethically sourced feathers. We searched the UK to find a cushion manufacturer that only used feathers that are a by-product of the food chain.

If you are allergic to feathers, please contact us on info@maiklondon.com. We can source pure wool cushions for you!

Our Birch serving trays are made in a small family run factory in Sweden. Each tray is made in the traditional way by laying birch veneer. All wood is sourced from FSC or PEFC suppliers that cultivate forests responsibly.

Each pair of our socks are knitted by a 3-generation family run factory in France. All of our yarn is dyed and ethically tested in France.

Made in the UK by a family run factory. All materials are from a sustainable source.
