Our Favourite Independent Boutiques in Edinburgh
When we moved to Edinburgh in 2016 we spent some time finding our feet and that means finding our favourite home and fashion boutiques. We are lucky that for such a small city we have some amazing independent options.
If you haven't been to Edinburgh before then it is the most wonderful city for exploring by foot and these are shops that you should add to your itinerary.
Spektakular

This colourful gem can be found in South West Edinburgh bang in between Bruntsfield and Morningside. Run by Swedish born Charlotte the shop specialises in Scandinavian design. The carefully curated collection includes Pappelina rugs, homeware, gifts and children's home accessories. And if you are buying a present they gift wrap too!

A colourful fashion boutique at the end of the Grassmarket that is split into two rooms. One room features pieces by local designers including Rowan Joy, our studio neighbour and the designer of Cat's wedding dress. The other room is filled with handpicked vintage items. They believe in ethical slow fashion and you are guaranteed to find a unique outfit.

At the bottom of Broughton Street, you can find Scandinavian design store Life Story. This was the first shop we came across in Edinburgh and it set the bar pretty high! They have an amazing collection of jewellery including one of our favourite brands Wolf and Moon and our new friend Steph Liddle. Even if you don't need anything you should pop in for a coffee, have a look around and pick up a copy of Kinfolk.

With two shops in Edinburgh, one on Broughton Street and one in Bruntsfield this is our go to shop to buy a gift. From carefully selected homeware and jewellery to candles and cards, you will struggle to walk out empty-handed. They also offer picture framing! We just used this service and can tell you it is very good!
Walker Slater

Throwing in one for men and that is Walker Slater. Based in the Old Town they specialise in tweed and you can either buy their off the rail line or opt for their made to measure service. It is super stylish and perfect if you are looking for a sharp suit for a special occasion. Also their handkerchief collection is next level!
