New: Sets of 6 Placemats and Single Placemats
This year we decided to change how we sold and packaged our placemats. Up until now, we only sold sets of 4 placemats. Over the past few years, we had a lot of customers ask us if it is possible to buy individual placemats or sets of 6 placemats. We were slightly nervous to change from what we doing as it meant that the work we had put into our packaging over the past few years would become redundant, but after getting more and more requests from customers we decided to make the change.
As our placemats are now sold individually, this means that you can mix and match colours to create your perfect placemat set. We've found that our customers wanted to choose their own set to compliment their colour scheme and didn’t want to be restricted to just one design or colour.
As a company with a strong focus on sustainability, we have always been reluctant to produce packaging just the sake of it. However, it is traditional to receive your placemats packaged. We spoke some of our customers who previously bought placemats to find out if they had kept their packaging; every single customer we asked told us that once they opened the packaging they threw it away. The reason behind this was that the placemats were kept either permanently on their table or stacked in a cupboard so there was no use for the packaging. This is what sold it to us, it didn't seem environmentally friendly to produce placemat boxes if they were just going to be thrown away. So from the beginning of 2019 we made the decision to simply wrap our placemats in tissue paper.
We know that some customers buy our placemats as gifts for their friends or family, so we will soon be offering gift boxes that our customers can purchase.
