MAiK Finalists in the Sustainable Lifestyle Awards!

We are so excited to announce that we have been shortlisted for two categories in the Sustainable Lifestyle Awards!
The Sustainable Lifestyle Awards are the first awards of its kind. Their aim is to verify and celebrate brands that hold style and substance in equal measure, putting a spotlight on the conscientious creators who are dedicated to making beautiful lifestyle products with positive social and environmental impacts.
The application process encouraged entrants to showcase the very best of their brand through examples of style and sustainability merits, showing commitment and explaining what they are doing on a larger scale to bring about positive change within their community or further afield.
At MAiK, we think manufacturing should be done responsibly in order to look after the environment and the people involved in producing our products. Frustrated by the lack of care for the environment and ethical practices in various brands, Cat, founder and designer at MAiK, made it her mission to start a design-led brand that made high quality products ethically and from sustainable materials.
Since the day MAiK launched our packaging has been plastic free. All the elements are biodegradable and recyclable, even our tape is paper. Our protective loose fill is a natural packaging material made from potato starch, which is 100% biodegradable, and fully compostable. You can read more about our plastic-free packaging here.
We believe in the sentiment ‘buy once, buy well’, having selected our manufacturers for their high-quality products as well as the ethical standards. From customer feedback, we know that our socks will last for 3 years; this is a sign of a well-made sock! It is important that our products have longevity when we live a ‘throw away’ society – we want people to still be using MAiK products for years to come.
We also believe in honest pricing. Our products are affordable and encourage people to buy better.
MAiK has been shortlisted as a finalist in both the Gift & Lifestyle Finalist and Homeware categories. The winner of both categories will be offered the chance to be debuted on the Rêve En Vert website – a retailer of sustainable and honest luxury. The prize will also include a dedicated editorial and social media posts for a three-month period. Following this, co-founder, Cora, will personally discuss results and provide feedback, with the possibility of being taken on in a long-term capacity.
The overall winners in each category will be chosen by a panel of expert judges that include industry professionals and sustainability experts from Harvey Nichols, Anthropologie, Feelunique and more.
The winners will be announced on the 6th November, wish us luck!
