It’s Earth Day! It’s actually the 48th Earth Day and this year is dedicated to changing the human attitude and behaviour towards plastics. Plastic pollution is poisoning our oceans and land.
This week in the UK the government put forward a motion to ban all plastic straws, drink stirrers and cotton swabs, this is a step in the right direction but there is so much more we can do.
Here at MAiK we don’t use any plastic packaging. We have tried to make sure that every bit can be recycled, our tape is paper and our sock tags are secured with thread. Our protective loose fill is made from potato starch which makes it 100% biodegradable and fully compostable - it might not be the prettiest but we wouldn't use anything else!
All our collections are made with sustainably and ethically sourced materials. We’re passionate about a responsible production process that looks after the environment and the people who make our products. We have worked hard to find makers that share our values.
This week Real Homes featured us as one of 9 Ethical
